The Trevor Whelan Collection Until the age of 10 I lived almost adjacent to Broxbourne station and observed the early years of electrification, as well as the introduction of various classes of diesel locomotive. I spent many hours on and around the station and became well known to the staff there. This proximity to the railway undoubtedly influenced my subsequent strong interest in the industry. In later years I began to record the contemporary local scene on film and over time this has grown to form an interesting historic record covering more than three decades of change on West Anglia routes. This gallery shows just a small representative selection. |
